During his visit, he engaged with carpenters who were diligently working in the market. Gandhi took the time to listen to the challenges these carpenters face in their daily lives and even tried his hand at crafting some furniture pieces.

In a post on a social media platform, Gandhi shared his experience, expressing admiration for the carpenters’ skills. He praised their craftsmanship, highlighting their ability to create durable and aesthetically pleasing furniture. He mentioned that they had insightful conversations, where he learned more about their talents and attempted to gain some hands-on experience.

The Congress party also posted pictures of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the Kirti Nagar market on their social media account, showing him actively participating in carpentry work.
Congress Party’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra” Initiative
The party affirmed that their “Bharat Jodo Yatra” (Connect India Journey) initiative is still ongoing. This visit marked the third of such outreach efforts by Gandhi in Delhi recently. Earlier, he met with fruit and vegetable vendors at the Azadpur Mandi in response to a viral video depicting a vendor struggling with rising prices. Additionally, he engaged with porters at the Anand Vihar railway station.

Regarding his interaction with porters, Gandhi mentioned, “I had met Rameshwar ji, a vegetable vendor, a few days ago. As soon as news of this reached others, some porter colleagues requested a meeting. As soon as I had the opportunity, I reached the Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi. I met them and had extensive discussions, through which I gained a closer understanding of their lives and the challenges they face,” as conveyed in a statement released by the party.
