There’s a sneak peek from the upcoming episode of Koffee With Karan Season 8 featuring Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, who were co-stars in Student Of The Year. In the promo, Varun asks filmmaker Karan Johar, “How do you get Salman Khan to say yes to a movie?” Karan playfully responds with, “Beg, borrow, steal.” Karan and Salman worked together in the 1998 blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji.
Salman Khan’s Role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Karan once shared on Indian Idol 12 how Salman came onboard for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Initially, no one accepted the role of the second lead alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Karan, feeling disappointed, attended a party at Chunky Panday’s house, where Salman asked about the casting.
Karan Johar’s Anxious Moments: Salman’s Agreement
Salman agreed to the film after hearing only the first half of the script. Karan, worried that Salman might think he was offering Shah Rukh’s role, clarified that Salman’s role hadn’t come up yet. Salman, knowing Karan’s father, agreed to do the film for him.
The Return of Varun and Sidharth Announced on Instagram
Karan posted the promo on Instagram, announcing the return of the boys – Varun and Sidharth. The caption read, “The boys are back!!
