In a significant operation the Delhi Police’s special cell suspected ISIS terrorist named Shahnawaz who was on the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) most wanted list. Shahnawaz, also known as Shafi Uzzama, was captured from a hideout in Delhi during a major crackdown by the anti-terror agency.

Shahnawaz, an engineer by profession, was a key figure in the ISIS Pune module case. Originally from Delhi, he had previously been arrested in Pune but managed to escape custody. He subsequently fled to Delhi and had been residing in hiding since then. Currently, he is undergoing intensive questioning by the authorities.
NIA’s Most Wanted List: Hunt for Terror Suspects Linked to Pune Module
The NIA had recently offered a cash reward of ₹3 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Shahnawaz and three other terror suspects—Rizwan Abdul Haji Ali, Abdulla Faiyaz Shaikh (known as Diaperwala), and Talha Liyakat Khan. These individuals were allegedly connected to an ISIS module in Pune, Maharashtra.
NIA Uncovers ISIS Conspiracy
The Pune module, as per the anti-terror agency, had sinister plans to disrupt peace and communal harmony in the country. During the arrest of one of the accused, Shamil Saquib Nachan, the NIA discovered compelling evidence exposing the ISIS conspiracy.
Nachan and his associates had intentions of causing widespread violence across the country by creating and detonating improvised explosive devices, according to statements from the anti-terror agency.
