As the upcoming assembly elections in Chhattisgarh draw near, there’s a buzz around candidate selections, especially within the Congress party. The ruling Congress, led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, is yet to announce its candidates.
Recently, a controversy arose when BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya shared a photo claiming Baghel was playing Candy Crush on his phone during a party meeting. Malviya mocked Baghel, suggesting he felt secure in his position, regardless of the fight, implying the government won’t change.
😂 pic.twitter.com/bcer39zx4o

Congress Aims to Retain Power in Chhattisgarh
The Congress, aiming to maintain its power, relies on Baghel’s government’s welfare initiatives. In contrast Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) plans to challenge Congress based on issues of alleged corruption and unfulfilled promises.
The Congress’s Chhattisgarh incharge Kumari Selja, stated that party’s Central Election Committee would meet on October 12 to finalize the list of candidates. This process is crucial for both parties as it shapes the battleground for the upcoming polls.
BJP’s Plan to Challenge Congress in Elections
The BJP has already released two candidate lists including prominent figures like former Chief Minister Raman Singh and Leader of Opposition Narayan Prasad Chandel. With elections scheduled in two phases on November 7 and November 17 state is gearing up for significant political event.
The upcoming elections are critical, determining the state’s political landscape. While the Congress works to maintain its dominance, the BJP is striving to regain lost ground. The selection of candidates will play a pivotal role, reflecting each party’s strategies and aspirations.
