The small cars market in India has always been essential for buyers, and Maruti Suzuki has been a leader in this segment with models like S-Presso, Celerio, Wagon R, and Alto K10. However, recent years have seen a shift in customer preferences towards SUVs. To keep attracting buyers, many car manufacturers are now offering significant discounts on their compact hatchbacks.
Citroen C3, a hatchback introduced in India last year at a starting price of Rs. 5.71 lakh (ex-showroom), is currently available with discounts of up to Rs. 99,000 from the French automaker. They’re even offering a ‘buy now and pay later’ option for select variants to make it more enticing for potential buyers.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis, although a unique-looking hatchback, has been a slower seller for the company. To boost its sales, Maruti Suzuki is providing substantial benefits of up to Rs. 70,000 this month. These include cash discounts of Rs. 35,000, along with exchange and corporate bonuses of Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 10,000, respectively.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio, priced from Rs. 5.36 lakh (ex-showroom), is available with discounts totaling up to Rs. 59,000. This offer includes cash discounts of Rs. 35,000, an exchange bonus of Rs. 20,000, and a corporate discount of Rs. 4,000, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers in October 2023.
The Renault Kwid, starting at Rs. 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom), is one of the most feature-packed cars in its category. This month, it’s offering benefits of up to Rs. 50,000, making it competitive against models like Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and S-Presso.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, the entry-level model for the Korean automaker after the Santro’s discontinuation, now ranges from Rs. 5.84 lakh to Rs. 8.51 lakh (ex-showroom). To entice buyers, Hyundai is offering discounts of up to Rs. 50,000, consisting of a cash discount of Rs. 30,000, an exchange bonus of Rs. 10,000, and additional corporate benefits.
These discounts and benefits aim to make these small cars more accessible and appealing to Indian buyers, providing them with affordable options during the festive season.
